Week 1,2,3 readings

Week Ones reading:

E-mail etiquette is very appropriate in a professional environment. The professional environment is a place where time and efficacy are the success of the business; therefore, things need to be clear and concise without nonsense or clutter.

I think there is a time and place for humor in e-mails after a relationship has been established. Most of the etiquette rules can be applied as common scene but there is some that may not be apparent such as not deleting the thread. There are others that we all know that we should do but we just think we are too busy such as sending a timely reply.

Week Two readings:

Facebook has the potential to reveal a lot about one’s personal life, that is certain. It is like everything else you must manage it and keep it private from people you wish not to see it. I can think of no good reason why people would put things on facebook that they are not proud of anyway. Employers are taking a risk on each employee they hire; an employee cannot manage their facebook why would an employer want them to help with their company. It depends on the employer and they type of company they run and the professionalism of the company it they have other information to go from that would give them a good idea about the person there would be no need. If they have no reason to believe they would be a good employee and have nothing else to really judge that then an employer may be enticed to look at facebook.

Week Three readings:

I myself think that Facebook builds casual, no meaning relationships. Facebook has got a lot of people hooked. I myself have an account for one of my classes. I do not like it or do anything with it but I do get on it from time to time to see if anyone has done something with theirs. The whole idea of maintaining these cheep relations has really appealed to people. It seems like people spend more time in front of a computer screen than they do making friends. I think on the compute people feel more confident and better about themselves. It is easier to be yourself and not feel like people are judging you as they would in person it can be communication in an impersonal level.

After reading this weeks readings it opens the scope as to what the internet really is how by just logging on to a page you may never really know where the page is generated. In relation to where the page is generated form what your search will bring up and all the detracts that can be affiliated with a search.
Just as any industry has its own jargon and terms exclusive to the trade, the computer industry has taken jargon to a whole new degree. It could be understood why companies hire web-page designers to do their web-pages, computer people understand one anther, as well as the potential to be political incorrect or not understand the jargon could be detrimental to a business in relation to time and money.
